Taittinger Millesime Brut Vintage 2009 Champagne

RM350.00

Originally known as Forest-Fourneaux, the House was purchased by Pierre Taittinger in 1932, and the Taittinger label was formed. Taittinger became one of the largest producers after a century of amazing expansion and is now one of the remaining large independent, family-owned Houses. Pierre-Emmanuel stepped down as President in 2019 and was succeeded by his daughter Vitalie. They hold 288 hectares of vineyards, and the Taittinger style is distinguished by a significant proportion of Chardonnay. Taittinger was awarded two environmental certifications in 2017: ‘Viticulture Durable en Champagne’ (Sustainable vine-growing in Champagne) and Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE – High environmental sustainability.)

Taittinger only makes vintage champagne when the harvest is of extraordinary quality. Their Brut Vintage is usually a combination of juice from the first pressing of the grapes and is stored in the cellars for four years, enabling the aromas to ripen gently and the wine’s length and complexity to develop. It is made up of Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs Grand Crus and Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne Grand Crus.
