Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2020

The Sauvignon Blanc 2020 is a definitive expression of the region and season. The appealing concentration and poise suggested a wine with aging potential. Aromas of Kaffir lime and grapefruit fill the nose. Rich citrus, stonefruit, and lemongrass flavours are balanced by crunchy acidity on the palate. The persistent finish, rich in minerality, is perhaps the vintage’s defining feature.

Cloudy Bay Vineyards is a winery in the Marlborough region of New Zealand’s South Island. Cloudy Bay’s first commercial vintage, made from purchased grapes, was produced in 1985, and the company later planted its own vineyards. It was one of the first New Zealand wines to be widely exported and gained popularity due to its fruit-forward style and strong varietal character. Wine Advocate gives this wine 90 points.
