Serego Alighieri Vaio Armaron Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Red Wine

RM349.00

Amarone della Valpolicella is a rich, dry red wine from the Veneto region of Italy. It is primarily made from the Corvina grape. Ripe, bold flavours distinguish Amarone.

The grapes are air dried immediately after harvesting in a process known as “appassimento,” which allows them to shrivel into raisins. This concentrates the sugar and flavours in the grapes, resulting in a distinct and full-bodied wine that will age well.

It is often said that you can leave an Amarone in your wine cellar without risk. Even ordinary Amarones can be aged for 10 to 15 years. Wines of exceptional quality can be enjoyed up to 30-50 years after bottling, depending on the vintage and ageing technique!

Time is money in the wine industry. Amarone is often expensive due to ageing, manual labour, and prime grape-growing real estate. Despite its iconic status, Amarone only recently received DOCG recognition. Because of its strong flavour profile, robust nature, and high alcohol content, Amarone is best paired with extremely rich foods (minimum 14 per cent abv).
