Chateau Haut Brandey Bordeaux 2015 Red Wine

RM89.00

Chateau Haut Brandey Bordeaux is a fruit-forward Bordeaux red wine with a merlot dominance. Fruity and clean.

Bordeaux has a temperate marine coastal climate with no dry season. Bordeaux reds have a lower alcohol level and a lighter body.

They are more nuanced in flavour and have less upfront fruit. They go well with game meats, roast lamb, and hearty beef stews because they are sophisticated and elegant.

Bordeaux is France’s largest wine-producing region. It is divided into two sections: the Left Bank and the Right Bank. Both are located in the Gironde estuary and are separated by their tributaries, the Garonne and Dordogne rivers.

While the Right Bank produces blends that are predominantly Merlot, the Left Bank produces blends that are predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon.

Bordeaux reds are said to be terroir-driven (you’ll hear this term a lot if you like French wines). Terroir is a concise way of defining a specific region based on soil, climate, and the collective knowledge of generations of farmers.

Keep in mind when shopping for Bordeaux reds that French wines are all about the region and the blend, not individual grape varieties. In fact, blend percentages are rarely listed on the label.

In an average year, Bordeaux produces 700 million bottles of wine! While Bordeaux produces some of the world’s most expensive wines, the majority are everyday, affordable table wines.
